Biography
Paine is a young woman who was a member of the Crimson Squad, a group of soldiers from Bevelle. During the squad's training exercises, the spirit of Shuyin confronted them in the Den of Woe, eventually driving all of the squad mad and forcing them to kill each other except for Paine, Nooj, Baralai, and Gippal. Nooj later shot the three in the back after the exercise, influenced by Shuyin's despair.
Several years later, Paine joined the Gullwings along with Rikku, and shortly after, Yuna. Ben also joined later, and found somewhat of a kindred soul in Paine. Paine's level-headed attitude and calm, yet sometimes angry demeanor proved invaluable in keeping the Gullwings on track in their missions, eventually helping them destroy the monstrous machina Vegnagun and allow Shuyin's spirit to be set free. Six months later, Paine traveled to the world of Gaia with the rest of the group at the request of the fayth.
Personality
Paine's personality is calm, but often sarcastic and quite blunt, as well as brutally honest on occasion. She makes for a powerful and loyal ally, as well as a very dangerous and often unpredictable opponent.
Synopsis
Paine has been involved in nearly every major event from the second story in the Clouded Horizons series - Eternal Requiem - as well as many of the events in Dimensional Legend. For more information, see the pages for those works.
Combat Information
Paine's skills in battle are mostly offensive, similar to those or her two comrades. Physically, Paine is the strongest of the Gullwings and shows it by using her strength and large broadsword to devastating effect in battle, often killing enemies before they can even counter.
