A Base Class is the lowest tier of classes in the Clouded Horizons series' Eighth Realm.
Overview
A Base Class is the starting point for any character in the Eighth Realm, an introduction to their training in a particular art or style of combat. Base Classes are the easiest classes to attain, as they simply require that the person in question begins training in the art which the class represents, such as Black Magic for the Black Mage class, or archery for the Ranger class. Base Classes also offer many options for upgrading to a higher-level class, an Extended Class, with classes offering anywhere from two to five different paths of advancement. By later points of a character's career, they will likely have many levels in several different Base Classes, giving them a wide variety of useful skills to work with no matter their level.

- Ranger is a Base Class in the Eighth Realm specializing in the use of archery to cripple enemies from afar.
- Combat Specialization: Ranged
- Red Mage is a Base Class in the Eighth Realm that blends modest physical combat and versatile spellcasting, balancing the use of each and excelling in neither.

- Thief is a Base Class in the Eighth Realm specializing in sneaky attacks that debilitate opponents and grant advantages to allies.
